Brussels Exhibition Centre at Place de Belgique, B- 1020 Brussels, Belgium will host the biggest yearly event on pharmaceutical ingredients and allied industries-CPhI Worldwide 2004/ICSE-on December 7th to 9th.
Started in 1990 as an international convention on pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, the first CPhI in 1990 attracted 250 visitors for 16 companies, while nowadays 20.000 industry professionals visit some 1.200 exhibiting companies from over 110 countries in the world. With more and more exhibitors and visitors CPhI becomes larger and larger each year.
As per official data, a total of 19.812 visitors attended the CPhI WorldWide and ICSE 2003 exhibition. Among them 11.397 were individual visitors and 8.415 exhibitors.
Region-wise participation figure break-up indicates that the 2003 edition of CPhI Worldwide & ICSE welcomed 11.379 people from Europe (61%), Asia/Middle East (24%), Africa (4%), America (9.5%) and other countries (1.5%) on one location in three days.
Visitor profile include executives from research & development, purchasing, engineering, production, quality control and general management from: original molecule designers; generic producers; me -too producers; OTC producers; intermediates producers; custom synthesis producers; cosmetic producers; engineering companies; research institutions; regulatory institutions; government and educational institutions.
CPhI Worldwide assigns the CPhI Innovation Awards for the first time this year. All exhibitors had been invited to submit contributions. A jury of renowned industry experts has selected 3 contributions from chemistry and 1 contribution from formulation.
Also, CPhI 2004 will also organize a Showcase Programme free of charge for all attendees of CPhI Worldwide & ICSE. The showcases will take place on December 8 and 9, 2004 at Showcases Arena in Hall 8.0 at stand 8100.

Three years ago the BioTech Hot Spot-pavilion was developed as a unique biotech-event to give biotech companies an opportunity to attract an audience specifically interested in their line of business. As the BioTech Hot Spot-pavilion is organised in the slipstream of both CPhI Worldwide (convention for pharmaceutical ingredients) and ICSE (international contract services expo). France, USA, China, Brazil -organised by CBI-, Argentina, Korea and Japan will be having dedicated pavilions at CPhI Worldwide 2004.
